Caring for Your Cork Floor
Cork floors are naturally softer than most hardwood and laminate products. Here are a few tips to keep your floors looking their best:
- Use felt pads on furniture legs.
- Do not drag furniture across the floor.
- Use rugs in areas with high traffic, such as hallways.
- Use a dust mop or a vacuum without a brush to clean dirt and debris from the floor.
- Try to remove your shoes (especially high heels!) before walking across the floor. If that’s not possible, use floor mats to wipe your feet near the entrances.
You can also refinish most cork floors, but it must be done before the finish wears off down to the cork.
